Chinese Fried Rice

For Chinese Fried Rice


  1. Steamed Rice – 2½ cups (add 1 tsp oil or 3-4 lemon drops so that rice don’t stick)
  2. Onion – 1 medium
  3. Green Chilli – 1 (chopped)
  4. Ginger – 1 tsp (finely chopped)
  5. Garlic– 1 tsp (finely chopped)
  6. Carrots – ¼ cup (chopped)
  7. Cabbage – ½ cup (chopped)
  8. Spring Onion – 2 stalks finely chopped
  9. French Beans – ¼ cup finely chopped
  10. Soya sauce – 1 tsp
  11. Black Pepper Powder – ¼ tsp
  12. Cooking Oil – 2 tsp
  13. Salt – according to taste

Method –

Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and saute onion, green chilli, ginger and garlic for a minute. Add carrot, cabbage, spring onion and french beans and stir-fry them for 2-3 minutes. The vegetables should not be over cooked, they should be slightly crispy but not soft. Now add and mix black pepper powder, soya sauce and salt to the pan. It’s time now time to add steamed rice, do make sure that you are mixing the rice gently as stirring too much can break the rice grains. Cook for another 2-3 minutes over medium flame. Chinese fried rice is ready to serve.

Serving Tip –

Serve hot with manchurian gravy and chilli sauce. It also goes well with any Chinese soup. Many people like veg fried rice with tomato ketchup as well.
