Spring Rolls

For Spring Rolls –

Ingredients –

  1. Cabbage – 1 Cup (chopped)
  2. Carrots – ½ Cup (chopped)
  3. Spring Onions – ½ Cup (chopped)
  4. Capsicum – ½ cup (chopped)
  5. Oil – to fry
  6. Soya Sauce – 1 tsp
  7. Vinegar – 1 tsp
  8. Chilli Sauce – ½ tsp
  9. Black pepper powder – ½ tsp
  10. Spring Roll Wrappers – 5-6
  11. Maida – 3-4 tsp
  12. Water – for paste

Method –

Take a pan and some oil in to it to saute the vegetable in to it. Saute them on high flame for some time until it becomes crunchy. Add salt, chilli sauce, soya sauce and vinegar in to the vegetables. Saute them for another one minute and keep it aside to cool down.

Now in a bowl, mix maida and water in to a thick and smooth paste so that there should not be any lumps in to it. We need to use this paste for sealing the wrappers.

For making spring rolls, take a wrapper and apply the maida paste on the edges of it with your fingertip. Now, put a 1 spoonful of vegetable on the wrapper for filing spring rolls. Gently roll it till the end and seal it completely. Repeat same procedure for the left portion of veggies.

Now heat some oil in a pan for frying. Once it get heated, add the spring roll wrappers in to it and keep frying until it turn golden brown in colour.  Once done, transfer them on to tissue so that excess oil can be soaked. Cut them in to small pieces and spring rolls are ready to serve now.

Serving Tip –

Serve spring roll hot with Tomato sauce and mint chutney.
