Vegetable Momos

For Vegetable Momos –

Ingredients –


  1. Cabbage – 1 cup (grated and squeezed)
  2. Carrot – 1 cup (grated and squeezed)
  3. Capsicum-1/2 cup (grated and squeezed)
  4. Onion – 1 small (chopped)
  5. Paneer – 1 cup (grated)
  6. Green chillies – 2 (finely chopped)
  7. Garlic – 3-4 cloves (grated)
  8. Ginger – 2 inch (grated)
  9. Salt – according to taste

Dough –

  1. Maida – 2 cups
  2. Oil – 2 tsp
  3. Salt – according to taste
  4. Water – to knead

Chutney –

  1. Tomato – 3-4 large
  2. Red Chilli – 2 flakes
  3. Cloves – 6-8 cloves
  4. Salt – according to taste
  5. Sugar – 1/2 tsp
  6. Water – for boiling

Method –

  1. For momos, we need to start with dough. Firstly, take maida in a bowl and add salt and oil to it. Mix it well and use very little water and knead it to smooth dough. Cover it for some time and keep it aside.
  2. Now for stuffing, mix all the stuffing ingredients together. Take a pan and add oil to it on low flame. Add all the stuffing ingredients to it and sauté for 2-3 minutes on lower flame. Once it is done, keep it aside to cool down.
  3. Now divide the dough in equal small balls and roll them using rolling pin in round shape (it should be thin as much as possible). Now put spoon full of filling in the centre of the rolled dough and seal them together on the upper part from all the edges. Continue the same process for all the balls you made.
  4. Heat some water in a pressure cooker and bring it to boil. Take a idli stand and place the momos in to the stand. Now you can place the idli stand in to pressure cooker and close the cooker without whistle.
  5. Cook the momos for 4-5 minutes on medium flame and if looks transparent which means they have been cooked.
  6. For chutney, take some water in a pressure cooker and add tomatoes and red chillies to it. Cook them for 1 whistle and drain them out to cool down.
  7. Peel the skin of tomatoes and add them in to blender. Add balance chutney ingredients too in to the blender and blend it in to smooth paste (do not add water to the chutney). Vegetable momos are ready to be served with chutney.

    Serving Tip –

    Serve vegetable hot with momo chutney during snacks time.
